Objective
Install a 3" appliance adapter to create a sealed connection between the pellet stove exhaust outlet and vent system.
The purpose of the appliance adapter is to help create an airtight seal and reduce the possibility of exhaust leakage at the stove connection point.

- Why is smoke leaking near the exhaust outlet?
Important Notes
The objective of the installation is to create a complete seal between:
Pellet stove exhaust outlet → appliance adapter
An improper seal may allow:
- Exhaust leakage
- Reduced draft performance
- Odor concerns
- Air leakage
Use an appropriate high-temperature sealant designed for stove applications.
Installation Procedure
Step 1 – Apply Sealant
Apply a continuous bead of high-temperature sealant around the inside surface of the appliance adapter.
(Reference installation image / attachment)
Ensure the sealant forms a continuous ring.
Step 2 – Install the Appliance Adapter
Slide the appliance adapter onto the stove exhaust hub.
While installing:
Rotate the adapter back and forth during installation.
This motion helps distribute the sealant evenly around the joint, similar to a plumbing connection.
The goal is to produce a complete airtight seal around the exhaust outlet.
Step 3 – Allow Sealant to Cure
Allow the sealant to cure completely before operating the stove.
Recommended cure time:
24 hours
Do not operate the stove until curing is complete.
