Problem
The stove control panel does not respond when buttons are pressed.
You may notice:
- No button response
- No audible beep
- Settings cannot be changed
- A key icon or skeleton key symbol appears at the top of the display
This indicates that the control panel lock function is enabled.
Resolution
Newer Control Panels (House Icon Display)
If your display shows a house outline icon in the center:
- Press and hold the Exit button (right arrow)
- Hold for 3–5 seconds
- Release the button
The key icon should disappear and the panel will unlock.
Older Control Panels (Icons Across Bottom of Display)
If your display uses the older layout with symbols across the bottom:
- Press and hold the UP and DOWN arrow buttons at the same time
- Continue holding for approximately 5 seconds
- Release both buttons together
The control panel should unlock.
Cause
This condition is usually caused by the panel lock being activated unintentionally.
In some cases, another household member may have enabled the lock function to prevent settings from being changed.
If the Panel Still Will Not Respond
If the panel remains unresponsive after unlocking:
- Power cycle the stove
- Verify power to the unit
- Check for display errors or alarms
- Inspect control panel connections if applicable
