Question: Why does my pellet stove have 2 sensors at the exhaust? Only one is connected, is this correct?
Answer: Your ComfortBilt Pellet Stove comes equipped with 2 fire switch sensors (commonly called Proof of Fire sensors). These sensors' only function is to alert the stove whether it does or does not have enough heat to prove that there is a fire, and that the stove can function normally or needs to halt operation..
The stove comes with 2 Proof of Fire switches, with one being a backup in the event the other one goes out prematurely.
There is no time that both should be connected simultaneously. Both lead wires and connectors should always be connected to either one or the other sensor.
