Question: What is the air intake damper? Where is it located on my pellet stove?
Answer: The air intake dampers is a sliding lever that can control the volume and pressure of the incoming combustion air. It is located on the inside of the side panel of your stove on the side of the 2 inch air intake. After gaining access to the inside of the side panel, locate the 2 inch pipe going from left to right into the combustion chamber. Trace the pipe to the left with your finger until you find a silver metal tab. That is the air intake damper. It is locked into place from factory settings by a 4mm Allen screw that must be removed if it is needed to be adjusted. Please note that any major adjustments to the air damper can hinder the performance of the stove.
